“ We went for Rockford Restaurant Week and got an amazing deal on the dinner. We got a teppanyaki show and dinner included, filet mignon, lobster, chicken, rice, and vegetables. We also ordered some sashimi and a couple rolls. The sashimi was fresh and melted right in my mouth. All were delicious. Our server was lovely and so was our chef on the grill. It was a busy night but all the workers were so attentive. Beautiful waterfall right when you walk in and plenty of seating. ”
“ Our server was friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. I ordered the Caribbean Roll with a ginger salad and my partner ordered the Rockford Roll and a seaweed salad. Both were great! ”
“ Best sushi in Rockford! Food is consistently good and the service is as well. Good portions & value. ”
“ Absolutely phenomenal experience. The food was some of the best we have had, and although we all had different dishes, we shared and the whole party raved about what we got. Make sure to try the ginger dressing, it is to die for! Also, the service was fantastic. Many thanks to Jenny for a great evening. We will be back! ”
“ Shogun is great! The servers were friendly and funny, the portions were generous, and the food was delicious. I ordered the combination with hibachi chicken and shrimp and loved it. There was so much that I will probably have leftovers for days. But I'm not complaining cause I enjoyed the food a ton. Would definitely recommend. Hope to come back soon the next time I'm in Rockford. ”
“ Came here with some friends to celebrate a birthday. First time here! First of all, the restaurant is massive. When you first walk in you're greeted by this beautiful little pond/stream and a cute little bridge on the left. Absolutely loved the decor. Service was a little slow. It was a Wednesday so maybe they just didn't have as many workers and restaurant was busier than expected, but once our order was in the food came out promptly. Got two sushi rolls. The spider roll was ok, but the scallop and eel roll was great! Definitely recommend that one. For dinner I was thinking of the ramen, but instead just went with some hibachi steak. Ginger salad dressing was so so good. Miso soup was solid. Fried rice, steak, and veggies were all good. I've never been to a hibachi restaurant that gives you some udon too so that was cool! Dessert we ended with some mochi ice cream. Mango mochi is what I got and I liked it. Was a solid time! ”
“ I have been coming here for years and it's always been amazing. #1 favorite spot for birthday dinners. I usually get the hibachi steak and would recommend the golden shrimp as an appetizer! ”
“ My wife brought me here for our anniversary and I have never had it before! I can't believe that I've never ate there, it is so good! Prices were very reasonable as well. We shared the meal for two and they gave us so much good. We had leftovers for at least two more meals. So good! I would love to go with a group sometime. Sitting with random people was a little uncomfortable. We will definitely be back to eat with friends! ”
“ Great place to eat! If you've been to a hibachi grill restaurant before, you kinda know what to expect: you get a chef assigned to your table to cook everything in front of you. It's a treat for the eyes in addition to the taste buds. Delicious food and good drinks. The atmosphere is also fun, they have a lot of neat details like a working water wheel, and if you don't want to sit at the grill side, they do offer regular restaurant seating in addition to a modern bar. They also offer takeout. It's a little pricy so we don't come here often, but when we're craving some special food, this is a great place to go! ”
